JDRF Support

Hey Everyone! I am a proud member of JDRF, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. I have Type 1 Diabetes (known as Juvenile Diabetes) and was diagnosed in January 2000. I would really appreciate your support of me as I prepare for the 2009 Walk To Cure Diabetes on September 26, 2009 located in Orem, UT. Please consider making a donation in any amount you can:

I'd like to thank everyone in advance for donations! Unfortunately this year I will not have the opportunity to walk this year. That exact same morning I will be attending the Commencement Ceremony for Provo College. I will get to walk early and then later get my diploma in November when I finish my last term. I still accept donations and I appreciate it in any amount!

Remaining friends after unsuccessful dating

First of all I am going to start using names not the person I am speaking of. I will use another name to keep their name private and so that I can write these blogs better!

So this girl that I most recently went out with, I am going to refer to her as "Ashlee". Again this is not her real name. Ashlee and I still have not talked/chatted or communicated in any way. Not because I haven't tried so. Mainly because I think she is just avoiding me or something. So this last weekend on Sunday I noticed that she had removed as a friend on Facebook. So I sent her a message and re-added her as a friend. In my message I stated that I totally understand relationships not working out but not being friends because of it?

Why she wouldn't want to be friends beats me. I have had many unsuccessful dating attempts and still remained good friends with them. I just don't understand why friends would be a bad thing or something like that. So anyways I'm not even sure that I will hear from Ashlee again. But I guess we will see what happens.

Now back to the current girl that I am interested in dating. I will substitute her name with "Lindsay". We are the FHE group leaders (Mom and Dad) of our so called family. Had our first FHE tonight but unfortunately she was invited to go to a Jazz Game and couldn't be there. I got there just about 10 minutes after it had started because of my class. But had a good lesson with an analogy compared to an iceberg. About 90% of an iceberg is underwater. So while it may appear danger-free, really it is not. The analagy went along with the titanic hitting the iceberg. The captain saw the iceberg and decided to rapidly turn the ship to the side which was the worst thing that could have been done. It resulted in the iceberg scraping and ripping through the hull of the ship causing it to sink. Now if the Titanic had hit it head on the front end would have been able to withstand the iceberg and likely would not have sunk. So it is with sin, you may not realize the dangers of sin until it is too late. You sink into the waters of the devil and find in hard to get out. I thought that was a pretty good analogy, assuming I explained it right.

After the lesson we had fun playing a couple games and that was basically our FHE tonight. It was quite fun. Now I will be looking forward to going to the Rascal Flatts Concert with Lindsay and I am sure we will have an awesome time! We're planning on meeting my coworker, Karl and his girlfriend Renee. (names have been changed so it is not their real names). I hope to see if I will further date Lindsay more. Hopefully with our calling together that can help out a lot. So I shall see and keep everyone updated!
